Expert Solution

Step 1
The level of damage caused by radiation, depends on the distance from the radiation.
Like, alpha particles have low range and cannot penetrate skin as such. They are least damaging, until inhaled or swallowed.
Step 2
Beta particles can penetrate partially through skin and cause beta burns. Gamma rays cause external hazard. Both gamma rays and x-rays can pass through the skin damaging cells in their path.
All radiations are extremely harmful as such, but Gamma rays are most lethal. As they can penetrate the skin easily, due to them being neutral in charge. And they are highly excited form of radiation, which can cause changes in the cells in a body.
