Torsional strain is generated when two groups are placed at 1 and 3 positions with respect to eachother .

Thus this strain is more prominent for equitorial bonds 

In small rings like cyclopropane , cyclobutane etc 

Bond angle predicted from ring size is less than that expected from hybridization state. Thus angle strain is generated. 

Steric strain is generated if two large groups are in close proximity i.e. within an angle of 0- 60°
