respond to the following  in 100 words  as to how the example was helpful

Cross-cultural research is where research is focused on the similarities and differences in individual psychology and social functioning in various cultures and ethnic groups (Keith). This research design focuses on comparing human behaviors across two or more cultures. Cross-culture psychology came about when Arnett asserted that the conclusions of research conducted by American psychologists weren't cross sections of the human population but of the smaller percent of the human population consisting of the American people (Keith). Some important considerations for conducting cross-cultural research is the culture that is being studied, the time period its being examined, anonymity of participants, consent and one's own cultural bias. Each play a role into how an experiment is being examined. For example, under traditional islamic law women were legally required to be submissive and obedient to their husbands, if they were not then their husbands were entitled to beat them (Mayer). Some cultural changes have been made to give women more rights, understanding the history and the culture one is going into allows them to follow customs and show respect. Cross-cultural studies are valuable because it provides us with information and tools that allow us to examine the world as a whole and compare multiple cultures in an effort to understand more about humanity as a whole.
