The qualitative research can defined as a kind of research that involves quality or kind that when the research is to be made on human behavior, attitudes, culture and experiences on the basis of observation and interpretation the research is said to be qualitative. For example, observing the customer purchase behavior for a particular product. This kind of research will not involve any numbers or numeric data, but just the consumer behavior. 

On the other hand, a Quantitative research is a type of research methodology which tries to quantify the data and establish cause and effect relationship between variables with the help of statistical methods. For example, study of the impact of consumer behavior on the sales of the company. This type of research will require data as sales can only be measured using numbers.
