He started feeling unhappy and demotivated at work as he believed it was time for a promotion
and salary increase. He was ready for a change in his career and wanted to play a bigger role in
achieving the organisation’s objectives. He had more regular meetings with his supervisor, attended
a variety of managerial courses and within a year he was promoted to assistant manager. John is
happy and plans to study further in the hopes of heading the finance department one day in a
leadership capacity.
