Provide a response to the following paragraph I believe the UN is still an important institution in world politics today because it still actively works to help other countries. For example the UN has members send help to countries that may have suffered a natural disaster, or have been attacked by another country. This leads to countries that are suffering to not suffer too much and can eventually rebuild at a decently quick rate. The UN also is important in peace being maintained among countries because members can work together to solve problems and not go straight to violence because other members can also intervene and decrease tension. The UN should only get involved with the war on terror if members are being affected. For example if a member gets directly effected from a terrorist attack they will all work together to make sure justice is served to that terrorist group which could be seen when the US got attacked by AL-Qaeda which led to members coming together to help the US cope and fight back. However if the UN gets too involved with non members many problems can occur. This is seen with the Russia Ukraine conflict as the UN has offered to help out Ukraine and Russia would answer with if they help they would end up being heavily attacked which can lead to chaos occurring in the world. The UN should be more involved if member countries are getting effected and they are seeing large increases in immigration. This is because large amounts of immigration can lead to problems occurring within the country including violence, homelessness, unemployment, etc. However certain nations should take leads such as countries of which people are leaving. This is because there is clearly an issue occurring within the country since people are leaving so that country should take a lead in the immigration of people into other countries. Poor countries still have a chance to achieve global security through taking advantage of the help and resources other wealthier countries give them. For example poorer countries receive security as well as weapons from more powerful countries so they can use this as a form of protection and to eventually defend themselves on their own. With this security business can eventually thrive in these poorer countries and they can eventually rise to be a more powerful country and be able to pay it forward and help out other countries.
