When ketone reacts with the halogen this reaction is called halogenation. In presence of a base like NaOH, the reaction is taking place. In basic medium halogenation of ketone gives the alpha halogenation reaction. Aldehyde doesn't have alpha carbon. Alpha carbon is the adjacent carbon of the carbonyl group.
