Post the pandemic ComputerCo have found a major skill shortage in key IT staff. As a leading (but mid-size) supplier of networking IT to organisations, it is now finding it hard to retain its current staff of 200. Whilst the current industry turnover is 10% - ComputerCo is at 15%. After undertaking a survey of staff the major issue emerged around career issues for their core talent. Whilst approximately 40% of the workforce were content in the short-term a further 30% wanted to develop more project management skills and 30% want to work as contractors (self-employed).
