please provide a response to the following paragraph  What intrigued me most while reading these two chapters was the Slavery Codes. Slavery Codes were made for enslaved people and basically it was the do's and don't on what you can do if you were enslaved. I was reading through the codes and there is a code that states no one shall teach the enslaved including the white folks, in my opinion I thought that didn't make any sense and it come to my head that the African American people were bound to make a mistake and be punished for it. It is hard to do something when you are self teaching, and I thought that was interesting. Also, another interesting fact was that if a baby was born from an enslaved person the mother or the father couldn't tell them when to start working or what age they can start, it was the owners decision. From my understanding that wasn't a law or a "code" so why did they have the say in when he or she can work. Also I think while reading the chapters the biggest problem with the African Americans was the healthcare. I think with the healthcare now we can do so much more. For the most most part chapters 7 and 8 were good in my opinion but I found the slavery codes to be off.
