Ms. Raspberry is a 20-year-old white female who sought services due to emotion regulation
difficulties, symptoms of depression, and interpersonal difficulties. Ms. Raspberry sought out
psychological services to improve her "emotional responses" stating when she is overcome by
emotion, she can have anger outbursts, binging and purging episodes, panic attacks,
uncontrollable crying, and engages in risky sexual behavior. During intake, Ms. Raspberry's
affect frequently vacillated between high distress, depressed mood, and euthymia.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Ms. Raspberry expressed difficulties in making and maintaining friendships. She reported
fluctuating feelings of apathy towards others' opinions to becoming extremely guarded so that
others do not evaluate her negatively. She also reported engaging in "weird reactions" for
attention, lying, and being "over blunt" which has prevented her from maintaining close

that others have told her that she is irritable. Ms. Raspberry also reported difficulty controlling
her anger and that her intense anger can last hours to months. When she loses her temper, she
reported becoming verbally aggressive and occasionally throwing objects. She reported a
plethora of situations that induce anger, such as the way people look at her, listening to
