Expert Solution
Introduction

DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid is a macromolecule which is responsible for the transfer of hereditary information from one generation to the another. DNA is made up of two polydeoxyribonucleotide chains twisted around one another.

The genetic information in the DNA is found only in one of the two strands, that strand is called the coding strand and the other one which does not contain the genetic information is called the non coding strand. These two strands are anti parallel, i.e. one strand is in the 5' to 3' direction whereas the other strand is in the 3' to 5' direction.
