Transcribed Image Text:From the given graph, it can be found that person M has read 100 pages initially, also given
that the person S has read more pages then the person Minitially. So the line representing
change of number of pages read with respect to time spend for person S will have point of y-
intercept slightly higher than (0, 100).
Also given that rate reading of person S is less than the rate of reading of person T. So slope of
line representing person S will be less than the slope of line representing person T.
As the increase in value of x is 2 and increase in value of y is 100, so the line representing
person T has slope equals to 50. Consider that slope of line representing person Sis 40, and y-
intercept as (0, 150). So the another point by which this line will be passing is
(0 +1, 150 + 40) = (1, 190).
So plot the point (0, 150) and (1, 190) and join them using straight line, to plot the line for
person S.

Step 3: Computation
Number of pages read by any person per hour is equal to slope of line representing a person.
As the slope of line representing person Sis 40. So person S will read 40 pages every hour.
Equation of line representing person S using slope intercept form can be written as
y = 40x + 150.
