An overview of EasyJet
EasyJet is a successful example of a no-frills airline in Europe. According to a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) study issued in March 2010, EasyJet is the UK's largest airline in terms of passengers carried each year. In 2009, approximately 28 million customers traveled on EasyJet through UK airports, according to statistics.
Stelios Haji-Ioannou founded EasyJet in 1995. (Greek). It is based on the low-cost, no-frills philosophy of Southwest Airlines. The story begins in 1995, when they launched their inaugural journey from London Luton to Glasgow (10 November) and Edinburgh (15 November). It all started with the marketing slogan "Making flying as cheap as a pair of jeans — £29 one way." They started with two leased Boeing 737-200 planes.
