ome nomadic tribes, when faced with a life-threatening contagious disease, try to improve their chances of survival by dispersing into smaller groups. Suppose a tribe of twenty-one people, of whom four are carriers of the disease, split into three groups of seven each. What is the probability that at least one group is free of the disease? (Hint: Find the probability of the complement.)

Some nomadic tribes, when faced with a life-threatening contagious disease, try to improve their chances of survival by dispersing into smaller groups. Suppose a tribe of twenty-one people, of whom four are carriers of the disease, split into three groups of seven each. What is the probability that at least one group is free of the disease? (Hint: Find the probability of the complement.)

I understand using the complement to find 1-P(no groups are free of disease) and know that of the three groups, two will have 1 diseased person of the 7, and the remaining group will have 2 diseased people of the 7.  I set up the three probabilities as hypergeometric, added them together, and subtracted from 1.  I'm not sure if what I did is correct, though.  I have 1- 4C1 (17C6) +4C2(17C5)+4C1 (17C6), but this resulted in a negative number.  Not sure what I'm missing.  Thanks!
