Need help coming with equation to find out possible combinations that fit following problem... Leon works at an aquarium. When he tries to put each turtle in its own tank, he has one turtle too many. But if he puts two turtles per tank, he has one tank too many. How many turtles and how many tanks does Leon have? I know one possibility would be 4 turtles and 3 tanks (number of tanks I believe would be 2m+1 since even and number of turtles would always be 2n) but trying to figure out an equation for finding out more possibilities.

For this question I am asking how can I come up with some sort of equation to solve for other possibilities than something than just 4 turtles and 3 tanks cause there should be more out there but unsure how to build the equation for finding other possibilities.
