Expert Solution
Step 1. Yellow stone national park .

Yellow stone national park is located in western part of United States is rich in geology . It has active hotspots that cause volcanism in the region . Apart from the volcano , the place witness the earthquakes , majority of them are non detectable and few were highly destructive . Grand Canyon , lake , series of faults and folds , Geyser and Basalt rocks  are geological features .

Volcanism in Yellowstone .

Majorly 3 volcanic eruption occured until Pleistocene .

  1. Eruption of Huckleberry Ridge tuff
  2. Eruption of Mesa falls tuff.
  3. Eruption of Lava creek tuff .

All the three have created big Calderas such as Henery Fork , Island park Calderas .

A Caldera is a depression on land caused when volcanic eruption occurs and lava flows out emptying the beneath magma chamber . As the chamber gets hollow the land above left unsupported and cracks up to fell down forming depression on land that later gets filled up water etc.
