Molarity is a concentration term that relates moles of solute and total volume. We use the symbol M for Molarity and it means m o l e s L.  If I put 1.000 mole of a solute like NaOH(s) into a 1.000 L volumetric flask and add water until the total volume is 1.000L, I have created a 1.000M solution.  Anytime I use that solution, I can calculate the moles of NaOH in any volume of that solution.  An example is if I have 0.320 L of a 2.310M solution of NaOH, I can calculate how many moles of NaOH are present in the sample like this: 0.320 L × 2.310 m o l e s N a O H L = 0.739 m o l e s N a O H So if I have 335.74 mL of a 0.453 M NaOH solution, how many moles of NaOH do I have?

Molarity is a concentration term that relates moles of solute and total volume. So if I have 335.74 mL of a 0.453 M NaOH solution, how many moles of NaOH do I have?
