Civil rights and liberties have been achieved through various federal legislations. These legislations are directed towards providing the citizens the rights which they are entitled to receive. Much federal legislation provided the citizens with their political, social, civil, and economic rights. Two among such federal legislations are the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
