Three-Phase Transformers
Three-segment transformers are a type of transformer used to transform voltages of electrical systems into three ranges. Two type transformers are shell-type transformer and core type transformer. In brief, it could be described because of the exquisite kinds of configurations.
Transformer
Ever since electricity has been created, people have started using it in its entirety. We see many types of Transformers in the neighborhoods. Some are smaller in size and some are very large. They are used according to their requirements. Many of us have seen the electrical transformer but they do not know what work they are engaged in.
For the single phase system given in the Figure, the following ratings are given. Transformer A-B: 500V/1.5kV, 9.6 kVA, leakage reactance = 5%. Transformer B-C: 1.2kV/120V, 7.2kVA, leakage reactance= 4%. Line B: series impedance = 0.5+3j Ω. Load C: 120V, 6kVA at 0.8 power factor lagging.
a) Determine the actual values of the load impedance and the leakage reactance’s of the transformers referred to primary and secondary sides.
b) Choosing 1.2kV as the voltage base for circuit B and 10kVA as the system wide kVA base, express all system impedances in per unit.
c) What is the appropriate sending-end voltage (Vs) corresponds to the given loading conditions?
