Discussion: The most important part of an information system within a company or business is the reliability of the network and information system - a streamlined network connectivity that is reliable between the point of the input from the employees to the servers that relay and transfer data to the necessary storage locations. The two types of input devices are manual input and direct input. A keyboard is an example of a device where data is input manually. The user uses the keyboard to input data on to the PC itself. This transfers thought or product into data to be stored or shared from the PC. A direct input device. A manual input device is basically a device that requires a person to do most of the work for data input. A direct input device would be something like a sensor or a barcode scanner. A sensor could even be something like a thermometer on your vehicle. When the vehicle is on, the sensor is always on a monitoring. The common input and output devices that we own are everywhere in day-to-day life i.e. smartphones, smart TVs, electronics in vehicles, mouse, keyboards, personal computers, printers, scanners, the temperature sensor on a kitchen stove, video game consoles, etc. My personal favorite I/O device is a camera or camera on a smartphone. I've looked up how cameras work multiple times and still can't really wrap my head around a device that is able to be pointed forward and able to imprint data or fill into what we are seeing with our own eyes. Especially with the cameras and photos that were taken pre-industrial era. My least favorite I/O device would be media players that outdate and become useless over time. For example, the competition between high definition players. Quite a few years ago there was Blu-ray DVDS and HD DVDs and it was clear at some point that only one of them would come out on top and be the preferred choice of HD development. When Blu-Ray came out as the one successful, all of the HD DVDs and players became obsolete and paperweights and unfortunately ended up in landfills or rendered useless. Such a waste.
