Muscle tissues are made up of thin and elongated cells called muscle fibers. These muscle fibers consist of protein filaments myosin and actin. These cells slide over each other, this produces contraction and our body parts move. Their main function is to produce movement and force, body heat production, and maintain joint stability. There are three types of muscles; skeleton muscle, cardiac muscles and visceral or smooth muscle.
