identify a bias you have unconsciously used and how will avoid it in the future. How can you help others becomes more aware of unconscious biases
Expert Solution
Step 1

We can say that the bias is unconsciously uses an assumption, idea, or attitude that has been learnt and is held in the subconscious is referred to as unconscious prejudice, or implicit bias. These biases are universal and are used by everyone as mental heuristics to process information more quickly.

Implicit biases emerge throughout time as a result of the accumulation of life events and exposure to various stereotypes.

In my life I have unconsciously used a bias ie, Conformity Bias

It is similar to groupthink that occurs when people change their opinions and behaviors to suit a larger group, even though their opinions are not reflected. This prejudice can arise when facing peer pressure or trying to fit into a particular social group or work environment.

The team decides between two proposals. I  prefers Proposition A, but the rest of the team gravitates towards Proposition B. But I  influenced by others opinion opinion and ends up voting on Proposition B because everyone else voted.

Conformity helps avoid conflict, but it can also limit creativity, open discussion, and the availability of other perspectives. Here are some ways to encourage it:

I used the following ways to overcome it in yhe future

  • Use anonymous polls or surveys. about other people's preferences.
  • Seek Opinions Prior: Before entering the meeting, each team has a private her chat with her members and asks for their opinion. This gives everyone enough time to think about the topic and express their thoughts without the pressure of presenting in front of their peers.
