3. Obtain 20 popcorn kernels and place inside the beaker and record the new mass with
the lid on.
4. Once your masses from (1) and (2) are determined, start heating the beaker on top of
your designated pan for Chemistry. Once kernels begin to pop, softly shake/agitate the
beaker to prevent burning. DO NOT BURN THE POPCORN.
5. After the kernels finish popping, remove the beaker from the heating element and
immediately remove the lid so the contents can cool. Think why you would want the lid
to be off in this situation when the system is cooling.
