I need the second step.

Expert Solution
Step 1: Introduction to denitrification process

This process is an example of a denitrification process. Denitrification is the process by which bacteria convert nitrate into nitrogen gas. Denitrification is an important process in the environment because it helps to remove excess nitrogen from living organisms.

The overall reaction is a combination of the oxidation and reduction reactions. The electron transfer reactions are balanced so that the total number of electrons lost in the oxidation reaction equals the total number of electrons gained in the reduction reaction.

The fraction of substrate carbon (fs) in this process was 0.333, indicating that 33.3% of the carbon from acetate was converted to biomass. The remaining 66.7% of the carbon from the acetate is converted to carbon dioxide. The fraction of substrate carbon (fs) in this process was 0.333, indicating that 33.3% of the carbon from acetate was converted to biomass.
