how owuld you write a resopnce for this statment below? Any questions?   A normal CFTR protein is called an ion chain in which moves atoms and molecules in and out of the cell.  The CFTR ion chain is moving chloride ions in the same manner when pertaining to the lungs.  When these chloride ions are outside of the cell they then attract water which enables the cilia to move back and forth.  This process is very important because this is how the body discards of bacteria, mucus, and germs from the airways.  In instances where the CFTR gene has mutations, the chloride ions are not properly moved to the outside of the cell.  When this happens the mucus in the lung is then dehydrated due to the lack of attraction of water and not discarded as needed.  This then makes it hard for the person to breathe because the mucus is not being cleared from the airways.  In addition, the person is also susceptible to infection due to the lack of purging of germs and bacteria (Basics of the CFTR Protein, n.d.).
