Triangular trade was a system of trading basically done in 18th and 19th centuries that involved shipping goods from Britain to West Africa to be exchanged for slaves, these slaves being shipped to West Indies and exchanged for sugar, rum and other commodities which were in turn shipped back to Britain.
John Rolfe recorded the first documented arrival of Africans to the colony of Virginia. He was one of the early English settlers of North America and was credited with the first successful cultivation of tobacco as an export crop in the colony of Virginia in 1611.
