How has America’s role in the pattern of global migration changed in the last century and a half? Why?
The magnitude and intensity of international migration have increased a lot in the last century as a part of the globalization process. The migration has even become quite diverse in the terms of destinations and origins. It also argued that with the increase in the integration of societies and with this there is an increase in migration and emigration.
This trend came in contrast to the lower diversity and the near structuring of the past migrations. Migration is maximum in only a few of the bilateral corridors and other historical links. Globalization has increased the political and technological process. Globalization in the modern day is not linked with the advancement of technology. The migration has increased with the rapid inflow of finance and trade along with the ideas, knowledge, and ideologies, etc.
