In a plant there are approximately 40 different types of minerals. Out of which carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen comprises of 95% of dry weight and another 5% comprises of the minerals which are absorbed from the soil. Some of these minerals are very important for the develop and growth of plant and therefore known as essential minerals, the left over minerals are known as non essential minerals. 14 minerals which are absorbed from soil, along with carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen for 17 essential nutrients required to the plant for its normal growth. These are further divided into macro and micro nutrients.
