The Kushanas belonged to the Yuchi clans of Central Asia. Their rule was extended over vast tracts of land comprising modern-day Pakistan and Western India. Their rule survived between the first century AD and the third century AD. The earliest ruler of the Kushana dynasty was Kadphises. The economy and cultural values in the countryside flourished under the famous king Kanishka.
