Ionic Equilibrium
Chemical equilibrium and ionic equilibrium are two major concepts in chemistry. Ionic equilibrium deals with the equilibrium involved in an ionization process while chemical equilibrium deals with the equilibrium during a chemical change. Ionic equilibrium is established between the ions and unionized species in a system. Understanding the concept of ionic equilibrium is very important to answer the questions related to certain chemical reactions in chemistry.

The acidic or basic nature of a solution is determined by its pH value. pH measures the concentration of the hydrogen ion in the solution. At 25°C, the solutions having a pH value less than 7 are termed as acidic while the solutions having pH value greater than 7 are termed as basic. The solutions that have pH value 7 are termed as neutral.
