Question

Hi I still need more help to this question please do not use chatgpt.

BritBox is a streaming service that "brings you the best of British telly, direct from the UK" (https:/ /www.britbox.com/us/about). BritBox has shows in four genres: drama; mysteries; comedy; and documentaries/ lifestyle. To better understand the streaming market, an analytics team at BritBox collected data on which genres their customers watched.
The analytics team found that:

  • All customers watch at least one genre of shows.
  • 80% of customers watch more than one genre of shows.
  • 50% of customers watch mysteries.
  • Of those who watch more than one genre of shows, 60% watch mysteries.

Calculate the probability that a randomly selected customer watches exactly one genre of shows and that genre is not mysteries.

This is my work

Let's define the events:

A = Customer watches exactly one genre of shows.

B = Customer watches mysteries.

We are asked to find the probability of P(A and not B), which means a customer watches exactly one genre of shows, and that genre is not mysteries.

Step 3: Determine the probabilities needed.

From the given information, we can extract the following probabilities:

  • P(B) = 50% = 0.5 (probability of a customer watching mysteries)
  • P(A') = 80% = 0.8 (probability of a customer watching more than one genre)
  • P(BIA') = 60% = 0.6 (probability of a customer watching mysteries given that they watch more than one genre)

How can I use this formular to claulate this probability?

P(A and not B)= ?????
