Hey hows it going, this is a problem from my Structural Analysis course. I am havinig trouble understadning dead loads on girders. The solution is posted on Bartleby. For the dead loading acting on the girder AG, the solution only accounted for the weight of the girder itself. This does not make sense to me because doesnt the girder also support a portion of the concrete slab? Thanks!
