Expert Solution
Step 1

Chemical equilibrium is when in reversible the rate of forwards reaction is equal to rate of backward reaction, so that there is no change in amount of reactants and products. An example is dissolution of Carbon dioxide in carbonated drinks. There is continuous movement of CO2 from gas phase into liquid and back from liquid to gaseous phase, when kept stable for a long time there appears to be no reaction going on, because the rate of reaction in both directions is same.

Thermal Equilibrium is the state of system when there is no exchange of heat between the constituents. An example of it is the measuring the fever with thermometer. When thermometer is is administered as the reading on the scale increases the heat is being transferred due to temperature difference, when the temperature of thermometer is same as that of body then thermal equilibrium between the meter and body is reached, and there is no further heat exchange, and the stabilized reading quantifies the severity of fever.
