Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are also called as sexually transmitted infections (STI) or Venereal Disease (VD). These are the infections transmitted from infected person to uninfected person through sexual contact i.e vaginal, anal or oral sex. STD can be caused by bacteria, virus and parasites. STD also transmitted through  sharing needles and breast feeding.

Two sexually transmitted diseases which are curable are 

1. Syphilis:

This caused by  bacterial infections. It occurs in people with age between 15 to 44. First symptom  developed is small round sore known as chancre. It is developed on genitals, anus or mouth. It is painless but very infectious. Lateral symptoms are rashes, fever, fatigue, headache, joint pain, weight loss and hair loss. If it is not treated that can lead to loss of memory, vision, hearing, mental illness, infection of brain or spinal cord, heart disease and death. Hence it is curable and treated with antibiotics such as penicillin.

2. Gonorrhea:

This is also caused by bacterial infections and it is called as clap. It occurs in people with age between 20 to 24. It include symptoms such sore throat, white or yellow or green color discharge from penis or vagina, pain during urination and frequent urination than usual. If is left untreated it results in infections of the urethra ,prostate gland and also infertility, pelvic inflammatory diseases. It is curable and treated with antibiotics.
