From this:
What type of test would this be? (t- test, z-test, etc)
What hypothesis is reasonable?
![Do students in Evanston Township High School (directly north of Chicago) receive a better
education than students in a similarly racially diverse Chicago Public School? I chose the CPS
high school randomly using the random number generator on my calculator.
This is a very broad question so I narrowed it down to look at the number of students each
counselor has to serve in Evanston Township High School as compared to those in a City of
Chicago high school. My assumption is that this is a reasonable proxy for the resources available
to students in each school.
Here's what I found.
Evanston High School as 17 counselors and Lincoln Park High School has 6. Since Evanston has
more l'm done. Right? Wrong!
Evanston has many more students, 3519 compared with 2101 at Lincoln Park High School. To
account for the differences in the population we can look at the number of counselors per
student.*
Your task is to conduct a test of the hypothesis that students in ETHS receive a better education,
as measured by the number of counselors per student.
A statement of the research question in your own words.
An assessment of my assumption.
A discussion of what type of test this is and why.
A statement of the null and alternative hypothesis and a discussion of why you chose what
you did.
The criteria by which you will decide whether or not your results are statistically significant.
Any calculations you did perform your test.
The results of your test.
Your interpretation of your results.](/v2/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcontent.bartleby.com%2Fqna-images%2Fquestion%2F9d92c707-161f-4f9c-97dd-7dba4b134865%2Ff549d33f-be4e-4ac4-a8ad-3208d4306bdb%2F5jg57qs_processed.png&w=3840&q=75)
