For reaction four, write the reaction that occurred when you brought the glowing splint/match to the mouth of the test-tube.  (Hint:  Consider which product from the reaction of HCl and Zinc is present at the mouth of the test-tube.)

4. Add 2 mL (40 drops) of 6 M hydrochloric acid (HCI) to the test tube. CAUTION: HCl is
corrosive. Keep it off your skin. If you spill acid on yourself immediately flush the affected
area with water for 2-3 minutes and notify your instructor. Drop one small piece of zinc into
the test tube. When the bubbling begins hold an empty test tube over the mouth of the
reaction tube. After a minute, hold a glowing splint by the mouth of the empty test tube.
Record your observations.
