Explain why orthostatic (postural) hypotension may occur
with vasodilator drugs.

The blood is pumped from the heart to all parts of the body through the aorta. As the blood is pumped with high pressure, the walls of the arteries are usually thicker than that of the veins where the movement of the blood through veins is not caused by pumping. The pressure during the contraction of the heart is referred to as systole and the pressure during the relaxation of the heart is referred to as diastole.
Hypertension is a condition that is caused when the blood pressure is higher than the normal levels and this can be caused by vascular constriction. When the blood pressures is lower than the normal levels, the condition is referred to as hypotension and this condition can occur when the blood vessels are dilated.
