Expert Solution
Introduction

Sociology is a discipline that studies society, which is a collective or group of human beings who live by similar norms, principles, and standards of life. Often societies are stratified which means that they are made up of different groups who occupy different hierarchical positions. American society for instance is made up of different classes, like the lower classes (the poor), the middle classes and the upper classes (the rich). Society is also composed of many different age groups, it includes the young (infants, children), adults and old people. In society each of these people have their own specific roles and responsibilities.

The Administration on Aging is division of the U.S Department of Health and Human Services that focusses on taking care of older American citizens. The Older Americans Act of 1965 was a law passed by the American government to ensure that adequate provision was available for older Americans (above the age of 60) so that they could take care of themselves. This organization is funded by the federal government and looks into services like health care, legal issues and caregiving for senior citizens.
