Expert Solution
Step 1: Introduction
The Quids were a faction of the Democratic-Republican Political Party of the United States, created by John Randolph, the Virginia Congressman who broke with Jefferson. The Quids existed between 1804 and 1812, and supported the coalition of the Republican Party with the Federalists in the beginning but later were known as the radical group of the Republicans who strongly opposed the policies of the Federalist Party.
The Hartford Convention was a series of meetings organized by the Federalist Party between December 15, 1814 and January 5, 1815 in Hartford. The convention was called upon to discuss the grievances because of the war of 1812 and its political and economic problems.
