Researchers have discovered that the formation of copper is associated with the volcanoes such as Pacific ring of Fire. Generally, copper is found in the form of copper-iron sulphides ore near the volcanoes. Igneous rocks are the solidified lava that erupted through volcanoes. Researchers discovered that salt rich fluids separate from magma beneath the active volcanoes and get trapped into the crust, few kilometres in depth. These brine fluids concentrate the copper from the magma. At the same volcanic system sulfur rich gases ascend from deep and react with trapped copper rich brine to form sulphide ores. Thus, copper ores are found in igneous rocks near volcanoes.
