Evolution is considered as a key unifying principle in biology. There is a popular saying that “nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution”. Evolution can be termed as descent with modification which is a process in which species change and give rise to new species.
Similarities between biological molecules also reflect shared common ancestries like structural homologies. At the most initial level, all living organisms share the same genetic material i.e. DNA, same or mostly similar genetic codes, same process of transcription and translation and same molecular building blocks like amino acids.
