This was an era when 3 warlords worked to overpower the daimyo using a variety of means. You can explore Shinto gods/practices, Buddhist philosophy/temples, daimyo intrigue, samurai culture, bushido practices, and the shoguns themselves. Just like last time, you can make a short video (or poem, or painting, or original music composition, etc.) showcasing an aspect of Japanese culture that interested you. I was really impressed with what you came up with before. I look forward to seeing what you create this time. Good luck and have fun! Dr. Busch. Submit Assignment
What kind of creative expression could I make in regards to this?
For the given assignment you can venture into the compound of Samurai culture, try to include the importance of samurai and Ronin into it. I shall give you a little description about both.
Samurai were a social class of social hierarchy who were warriors, who swore allegiance to one daimyo during the 17th century the term Bushido emerged this referred to the code of moral values which was unheard by the Samurai which included frugality, loyalty, excellence in combat including martial arts, honour and no fear of death. They were undyingly loyal to daimyo, they protected daimyo land and supported any attempts to increase his landholding, wealth and status. Ronin, they emerged as a significant social class during the Tokugawa regime. These were samurai who had no allegiance to daimyo reasons being losses in battles, or the death of their daimyo.
