Testes are the male gonads that produce sperm and testosterone that is much necessary for reproduction. Sperm is the gamete that combines with the female gamete ovum to form a zygote, this process is called fertilization. The zygote develops into a multicellular embryo which involves several complex mechanisms. The sperm is produced in the testes, it needs to be expelled via the urethral meatus to reach the ovum for fertilization. From the testes, the sperm moves to the epididymis. It is a coiled muscular tube, it receives immature sperm and stores the sperm in it till it matures. During the initiation of ejaculation, sperm are expelled into the vas deferens. The smooth muscle in the wall of the vas deferens contracts propelling the sperm forward. It arrives at the terminal expansion/ampulla of where the vas deferens joins with seminal vesicles to form the ejaculatory duct. The sperm from the vas deferens is now pushed into the ejaculatory duct. From them, it's propelled into the prostatic urethra. It travels in the different parts of the urethra(prostatic, membranous, penile) and gets expelled via the urethral meatus.
