Question

Draw a sketch to fully illustrate the heat neutralization experiment and give
one example of its use in everyday life.

Expert Solution
Introduction

The Reaction in which the acid and base quantitatively reacts with each other to form Salts and water is known as Neutralization Reaction. The Heat evolved during this reaction is known as the Heat of neutralization reaction.

Example - HCl + NaOH NaCl + H2O

Theoretically , Heat of Neutralization reaction can be calculated by using the formula :

                                         Q = mcpT

here , the Q = Heat released, m = mass of the solution, cp = specific heat capacity , T = Temperature change observed.

Experimentally , It can be calculated by using Calorimeter. It is a object used for calorimetery, a process of measuring the heat change during the reaction.
