Do you believe crime is learned like most other behaviors? If so, what part of social learning do you think is the most important?
I believe that psychologically crime can be learned like most other behaviors. The part of social learning that I think is the most important is the influence of peers and friends on behavior, because this is what causes people to imitate those who are doing something wrong.
Next social learning is imitation. Imitation is an essential part of learning, as it allows us to identify and connect with others who have similar interests or goals. Our behaviors are learned through the process of social imitation—when we observe someone do something, we mimic their behavior and try it out on our own.
For example, a child who watches his father play tennis will begin to imitate his father's moves when he plays tennis himself later in life. The child may also be influenced by the clothes he sees his father wearing or the way he speaks, which can influence how he behaves when playing tennis later in life.
