Gender based marketing is a very open term in the world of business. It can be used in different ways.  Both men and women has different product preferences and need and wants are different from one another. It is quite natural that there are some basic requirement such as Food, Shelter and other basic necessities but beyond a certain point the preferences of both the parties differ.

 

Articles which are used by mostly men are advertised using a male model for relative association with the male world similarly products which are popular among women are advertised using via a female model for female association.

Market is run by demand - if there is demand for the product and gender based marketing can help to create more association with the public then is is good for the business until it is creating some kind of social issues.
