Every company is expected to reduce and or eliminate the number of accidents that occur on their
premises every year. Reduced the number of accidents on site will help manage the company’s
compensation budget. If an employee is injured at work, the employer may be held liable for the injury
and they may end up paying a huge amount of money as compensation to the injured employee.
A company in Wynberg recruits graduate trainees every year. The company has different rooms that
the IT graduate trainees can use as labs for assembling and disassembling computers.
To avoid clutter in the maintenance labs, all computer equipment is kept in the storeroom. Depending
on the practical for the week, the graduate trainees have to request the equipment that they require,
from the technician. They then go and pick up the necessary equipment from the storeroom and sign
for it.
The safety of all members of staff is of paramount importance to the company. Any accidents on site
are reported immediately to the Health and Safety Officer, who is expected to assess the injury and
quickly seek appropriate help for the affected individuals. Every employee is made aware of the health
