Plato was one of the ancient Greek philosophers and thinkers of the classical period. He was one of the followers of Socrates and Plato was the instructor of Aristotle. Plato is known for the foundation of the philosophical school called the Academy and wrote the Republic. One of the main ideas put forward by Plato was the Allegory of the Cave which he presented in his book Republic.
