The internal organs, also known as accessory glands, include seminal vesicles, bulbourethral glands, vas deferens, and prostate glands.

Step 2

Semen is the fluid secreted by the male reproductive system that comprises mature sperms and fluid rich in enzymes and nutrients essential for the survival of sperms. The four male accessory glands, along with their contribution to the formation of semen, are as follows –

Prostate gland – secretes a transparent fluid that makes up to one-third of the semen.
Bulbourethral gland – produces a transparent fluid that helps in lubrication of the urethra.
Seminal vesicles – produces a seminal fluid rich in fructose, which provides energy to the sperms. This fluid forms a significant part of the semen.
Vas deference – it helps in the transportation of mature sperms into the urethra for ejaculation.
