Manifest destiny as the idea which resonated in the United States during 1845 the term Manifest Destiny was coined which argued that it was through God’s will that expansion should be done. It narrated that God wanted the people of America to expand their land and expand their dominion in order to spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent. This philosophy drove 19th century United States territorial expansion and was used to justify the forced removal of Native Americans and other groups from their homes. This rapid expansion of the United States intensified the issue of slavery as new states were added to union and this leading to the outbreak of the civil war.
